A native of Westport, Massachusetts, Airman First Class Benjamin Paille is a trumpet player for the United States Air Force Band of Liberty.
Airman Paille graduated from Westport High School in 1999. He was a member of the Massachusetts All-State Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band. As a young aspiring musician he spent his high school years studying with local trumpet great, Jack Martin. He continued his education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He has studied with Steve Emery, Greg Hopkins, Phil Wilson, Tiger Okoshi, and Wynton Marsalis. Prior to joining the Air Force he worked as a freelance trumpeter on cruise ships and as a soloist in the Broadway show BLAST!. He has performed extensively in the Boston area, sharing the stage with Cyrus Chestnut, Nicholas Payton, Roy Hargrove, Kevin Mohogany, Jason Moran, Kendrick Scott, Walter Smith III, and many others.Airman Paille will be soloing with the Tri-County Symphonic Band on March 17, 2013.
