The Resurgam Quartet formed in 2015 at the Hartt School in Hartford, CT. It consists of Harrison Kliewe (soprano saxophone), Maggie Weisensel (alto saxophone), Sean Tanguay (tenor saxophone) and Michael Raposo (baritone saxophone).
Recently, the quartet was invited to the quarterfinal round of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition for the second time. The quartet also won the 2016 Paranov Concerto Competition at the Hartt School performing William Bolcom’s Concerto Grosso. Resurgam has been two time State winners of the Music Teacher National Association competition.
Resurgam has enjoyed an active performing schedule in their first two years. Along with this season's program they also presented a recital of new works for the Hartford New Music Festival and performed in masterclasses with Martin Bresnick and Arno Bornkamp. The Quartet is also active in bringing chamber music into the school, and presented many masterclasses and concerts throughout Massachussetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and Indiana to advocate for classical saxophone and chamber music in the community.
The Resurgam Quartet is dedicated to engaging audiences in exciting saxophone quartet repertoire and will be our guest performers at our March 18th program, “March Mania”.
