Ted Casher

Clarinetist and woodwind specialist, Ted Casher, is one of the most respected musicians in New England. His extensive list of groups that he has performed with include The Harry James Orchestra, The Benny Goodman Tribute Orchestra, The Artie Shaw Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Ray MacKinley All-Stars, The Duke Belaire, The Rhode Island Philharmonic, The Zamir Chorale, The Klezmer Conservatory Band, Wilbur Theater, Shubert Theater, Colonial Theater, Wang Center, South Shore Music Circus, Cape Cod Melody Tent, North Shore Music Theater, Chateau de Ville/Randolph, Framingham, and Warwick, and Comcast Center, Blinstrub's Village, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Michel LeGrand, Tony Orlando, Lou Rawls, Jerry Lewis, Sergio Franchi, Al Martino, John Denver, TV performances with the New England edition of the Merv Griffin Show, Studio orchestra for Community Auditions, with Dave Maynard, The Swing Legacy, the Jazz Tuber Trio, the Bessarabian Breakdown, and the John Badessa Orchestra. As an educator, Mr. Casher has served as Musical director of the Rhode Island All-Star High School Jazz Ensemble, a big band which opened the Newport Jazz Festival, Conducted All-State Jazz Ensembles in Maine, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Studio teaching and classroom instruction at Berklee College of Music, Rhode Island School of Music (now defunct), Roger Williams University, University of Rhode Island, Community College of Rhode Island, Dean College, Ponaganset High School and North Attleboro High School, Senior instrumental faculty at Foxboro Jazz Improvisation Camp, Maine Jazz Camp, and Rhode Island Music Educators Camp, Composer-in-Residence for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, and Jazz instructor for The Arts Center, in Providence, RI

Ted will be performing as a guest soloist in the Tri-County Symphonic Band's October 25, 2015 “October” concert.
